New this Winter, but set to become an annual fun-filled Fulton County Winter festival – the Caroga Winter Carnival kicks-off on Friday, Jan.31 with outdoor events, activities, food, beverage and music through Sunday, Feb. 2, Groundhog Day, and yes we are hoping for more winter fun!
The Caroga Lake OUTHOUSE RACES are back! NICK STONER SNOWMOBILE CLUB POKER RUN with stops at: Vrooman’s (host), Nick Stoner Inn, Pine Lake Lodge, Pleasant Lake Inn, Oppenheim Trail Blazers, Caroga Fish & Game Club, Royal View Campground, Camper’s Corner Store, with fuel available at Caroga Lakeview Store. There will be a VINTAGE SNOWMOBILE SHOW, Bonfire with S’mores, a CHILI COOK-OFF, SNOW VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT, SLEIGH RIDING PARTY. KIDS ICE FISHING CLINIC, and a winter FIREWORKS DISPLY on Saturday night.

Friday, Jan 31 – Vintage Snowmobile Show, Bonfire, S’mores, Food Vendors, Beverages, Music and the coronation of the Caroga Winter Carnival King and Queen- at Royal View Pub Pavilion and Campground – (2533 St. Hwy 10, Caroga Lake, NY). Live music at Vrooman’s (2040 NY-10, Caroga Lake, NY) and be sure to visit ALL Caroga Lake venues which are open with extended winter hospitality!
Saturday, Feb. 1 – Vintage Snowmobile Show continues, Nick Stoner Snowmobile Club Poker Run – one of the best was to visit some top local attractions! Family Sleigh Ride Party at Logged Inn,(101 Washington Square, Caroga Lake, NY); Pine Lake Lodge Winter Games, 10 am to 4 pm, food, and Stump City Brewery (1050 NY-10, Caroga Lake, NY); Nick Stoner Golf Course hosts X-C Skiing and snowshoeing (1840 NY-10, Caroga Lake, NY): Wheelerville Trails Fat Biking and Snowshoe Trails (1737 NY-10, Caroga Lake, NY); Ski and Snowboard at Royal Mountain all day with live music in the Velcro Lounge from 1 to 4pm (NY 10, Caroga Lake, NY); live music at Vrooman’s; Fireworks over Caroga Lake after dark! *Be sure to all Visit Caroga Lake venues which are open with extended winter hospitality!
Sunday, Feb. 2 – Groundhog Day – Let’s enjoy WINTER! – Caroga Lake Outhouse Races in downtown Caroga, exact location TBA, 10 am Kids Ice Fishing Clinic hosted by Caroga Fish & Game Club on West Lake in front of Sherman’s; 8 to 11 am; Vrooman’s Snow Volleyball Tournament; Chilly Chili Cookoff- local eateries showing off they best recipes at Lakeview Country Store’s Arcade (2043 NY-10, Caroga Lake, NY) – open voting starting at 2 pm/contest at 3 pm after outhouse races.
Any-day Winter Activities also include snow showing, cross-county skiing, ice skating, groomed snowmobile trails, and much more! Visit Royal Mountain Ski Area for skiing and snowboarding and Wheelerville Trails for Fat Mountain Biking and snowshoeing, Nick Stoner Golf Course for x-c skiing/snowshoeing.

Kids Fishing Clinic, Sunday Feb. 2, 8 to 11 am: Join the Caroga Fish & Game Club Sunday, Feb. 2 from 8 to 11 am for a morning of kids fun and adventure! Kids 12 and under are welcome to learn about the sport of ice fishing and participate in this hands-on, kid-friendly, educational activity. Sign–in and access will be at the Town of Caroga’s entrance near Bath Ave. in Caroga Lake. This is a free event, please dress appropriately for the weather. *Event is dependent upon the weather and lake conditions.
