The Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce Art Gallery, located at the Chamber’s office at 2 N. Main Street, Gloversville, is hosting an exhibit for the Fulton Montgomery Quilt Barn Trail project. The exhibit will be displayed in the Chamber Gallery from Friday, April 4 through Friday, May 2 and is open for viewing Monday through Friday from 8:00am until 5:00pm each day. Barn quilt squares are painted on exterior-grade wood and hung on barns, sheds, garages, houses or anywhere that is visible from a road. A quilt barn trail is a public art project that promotes the collection of these squares within a region to enhance tourism and celebrate community heritage.
The public is invited to the opening reception for the exhibit which is scheduled for Friday, April 4 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. In addition, there will be a closing reception for the exhibit on Friday, May 2 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm to which the public is also invited. At both events, there will be light refreshments served and information will be available about the Fulton Montgomery Quilt Barn Trail project. Members of the Board of Directors from the Fulton Montgomery Quilt Barn Trail will be on hand to explain the project and how region residents/businesses can be involved. There will be Barn Quilt Squares for sale and on display as well as demonstrations about the creation of the Barn Quilt Squares.
The Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce Art Gallery, and the receptions for this exhibit on April 4 and May 2 are free of admission and open to the public.
